At Heartland Builders, we believe it is our responsibility to build homes that compliment and improve the character of our community. We also share a firm belief in giving back and making a meaningful contribution to the community.
We do this in a number of ways, volunteering our time, labor and capital to support a range of worthy causes, community projects and non-profit organizations. We also serve on several committees and councils, providing leadership for educational, building trades and community service organizations.
To promote our strong belief in Green Building methods, Heartland Builders served as the Project Manager for the “Green House on Watson,” designed and built in cooperation with Westown Jubilee Housing and Grand Valley State University, School of Engineering.
The Green House on Watson allowed us to participate in building a home that pushes the envelope in terms of sustainability. This project also demonstrated how Green building materials and technologies can be used in a cost-efficient manner to create attractive, high quality, low-income housing.
In addition to our efforts, the numerous trade contractors that worked on this home
did so from their heart. It was a great effort by a wonderfully talented group of people. Their names are listed to the right.
